Pioneer Day

Today is the day our church commemorates the entry of Brigham Young and the first group of Mormon pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley, on July 24, 1847, where the Latter-Day Saints settled after being forced from Nauvoo, Illinois and other locations in the eastern United States. What faith these people had to cross the United States by foot/ handcart/ or oxen driven covered wagons. Many lives were lost enduring for such great a cause. I'm grateful for it. I am grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Our ward celebrated this day with dinner, a band, bounce house, pioneer games, face painting...(Mustache Man)...and a man made slip and slide out of hay bales, black roofing plastic and a fire hose!!! Look closely and you can see the back of Jon holding Brody on the slip and slide. As you can see, Brody was NOT happy about going on the slip and slide. Not a big fan of being sprayed by a FIRE HOSE, OUCH!Now Rylee's turn and she LOVED it!All wet. Jon was the only adult that went on the slip and slide. While watching all the kids go, he was getting amped up about it and he finally said, "I'm going!". One of the kids in line asked him what he was doing and Jon said, "You don't get to have all the fun" and the kid replied, "Yeah we do". Cheers to still being a kid no matter the age! Aren't they just the cutest!!TAYLEE BABY sporting the princess tutu!
