Preschool!

Preschool has been really fun in our house. Rylee and Brody wake up and say, what are we going to do today? It's been fun learning new fingerplays, songs, fun craft ideas along with kindergarden readiness. Here they are finger and toe painting!Finding joy in the journey is getting better and better. Love these two!

Daddy

I'm so glad when Daddy comes home, glad as I can be.
I clap my hands and shout for joy and climb up on his knee,
Put my arms around his neck, hug him tight like this,
Pat his cheeks and give him what, a great big KISS!This is one of the kids favorite things to do while Jon is at work. They love to surprise him with gifts that they have made and then wrap them in wrapping paper (Spiderman!). Jon has been gone over half of this month with working hard for our family. Needless to say we miss him, especially the kids. They love welcoming him home in the mornings with a "BOO!" and a present. They are most thoughtful. We love you so much Jon!

Faces

Jon has been getting a kick out of Rylee's new facial expressions. I wonder where she gets it from? Time to document it. Cracks me up!Lately Brody has been so sweet and I just love this picture of his smiling face.Getting older and loving every moment.

Green like the Hulk

Brody has been sick these past couple days with vomiting and diarrhea. He has gotten his cast wet in the pools and the bath and has now added vomited to the collection of fluids on his old orange one. PEE-YOU!!! That stinky one had to go! The ortho tech was great at getting the cast off without burning his arm unlike the one who took off Rylee's cast and burned her in 3 different places. Das ist nicht gut! I thought Brody might be afraid of the loud saw, but it was Taylee who did the crying. Brody is now green with envy for Lightening McQueen's and Dashes speed. He is so funny running in the house saying, "Watch me, watch me...I'm daster daster". Again, still waiting for him to say his "f's" like "f's".

"Down the Hatch"

We go to the library's story time and a craft every Thursday and the kids really enjoy it. Recently they checked out a book called "How I Became a Pirate". It's a cute little story about a little boy on the beach one day who met some pirates and they took him in. The mates on the ship copied everything the captain said and one of his sayings during dinner time was "Down the Hatch!" Ever since, Brody just yells out "Down the Hatch" randomly and at dinner time. It makes us all laugh! Today the library hosted a pirate fair. The kids got to meet pirates,That is a pet rat on Brody's cast. Gross...ok, it's fake, but still gross. Look at this pirates nasty teeth!watch a duel, climb a board a ship, watch a canon demonstration,go to "pirate skool" where they learned how to properly insult one another (scurvy dog, lilly livered rats tail etc.), and listen to pirate stories told by the librarians. It was a fun hot day!

SHARK!!!

We have a shark in our midst!! Look out! This is a fun dress-up/ halloween costume. Sorry Brody, she looked for Shamu, but this was the closest thing she could find. You sure do look scary! This makes me laugh.Afterwards we had a little treat and I love that Brody can do this just like Oma and I. She'd be so proud.

Gymnastics again...

I actually have loved watching Rylee's progression from when she started right after her 3rd birthday. Some updates...Now we added her.....and he is getting so big!!!

Time Out For Women

What an enlightening weekend to spend with the girls! We were like Baby Central! The theme was HOPE (...we hope all things...Articles of Faith 1:13). We also brought things to assemble hygiene kits for a local women's shelter. We missed you Britt! Favorite speakers included: John Bytheway, Emily Watts, Emily Freeman, Amanda Dixon, Mariama Kallom, and music by Jenny Oaks Baker and Mercy River. Until next year!!

Blake and Football

While I was at TOFW Jon took Rylee and Brody to Abel Litchfield's birthday party and they had a blast. Dinosaur everything! Afterwards he took them to one of Blake's football games. This is his first year playing and Jon said that he is doing just fine. He is doing everything he should be doing. I love some of these pictures because it reminds me of watching Jon play football back in High School. I can't tell you just how much I loved watching him play! Not only did his gluteus maximus look so nice in his uniform, but to watch him succeed was even better. I'd get nervous for him at the beginning of a game and loved waiting for him at the end of a game. He was always so hard on himself though he always did great. I totally understand, I did the same thing in gymnastics.Blake is #30 working the other team. The kids had such a great time. They usually do where ever they are.

Like father like son...

Everyday Brody says,"I want to be a dire-dighter like daddy!". He can hardly wait until he gets real turnouts. I can hardly wait until he says his "f's" like an "f", but for now it's so cute to hear him say that.

We have a babysitter!

Rylee was not so happy that I went to "Time Out For Women" without her. Luckily it put a smile on her face when I told her she would be able to feed Taylee with a bottle. Jon said she felt like such a big helper and so grown up. She is so grown up. I miss her being a baby like Taylee and a little person like Brody. I always say I'll never forget certain moments because at the time they are so meaningful. But I do end up forgetting which makes me sad, hence the blog. I want to remember as much as I can.

Preschool!

I've been looking for some traditions and I think I found one! (Thank you Peah!) I am also of German desendent and I took 3 years of German in high school along with all other siblings but Aimee. We had fun speaking "gebrochenem Deutsch" at home to one another! Here is the tradition: "Schultute" translation "School Tote/Bag". It is traditionally given to children on the first day of first grade for children to anxiously await school. It is filled with all sorts of goodies - candy, school stuff, anything the kid will like! My spin off is that I think I will give it on the first day of school every year. So here is the first day of our in-home preschool. They also learned that they are fun on their heads as well!

Tongue

I don't know what's up with her tongue lately? Maybe she's pretending to be a snake and collecting data for her smart brain.I don't really know, but I think she looks pretty darn silly either way!
