Home Videos

The kids love seeing themselves on the TV. They always are asking to watch home videos and Jon has done such a great job putting them together for us to enjoy. Tonight we watched home videos and some inspiring mormon messages. I love these 4 so much and love cuddling because it seems to be a rarity because we are so busy all the time.

Family Date and Throw Up!

Today we decided to spend the day together and do something the kids want to do. They decided on a movie, of course. We went and saw Alvin and the Chipmunks: Shipwrecked. The kids really enjoyed the experience of the big screen and Taylee felt like such a big girl in her own seat. Cracks me up! Jon and I rolled our eyes a lot through this movie, but the kids seemed to like it. We let them have popcorn at the movie, then they decided on going to Johnny Rockets for dinner. Later that evening after everyone has gone to bed, Brody wakes up because he has vomited in his bed. The first thing he says is, "Do you know why I threw up?" I said, "Why?". He replied with, "Because of all the junk I ate today. It made my tummy hurt.". And that's exactly what it was.

Dress up!

Rylee loves dress up and is trying to get Taylee into it as well. It's fun for Rylee to dress up Taylee like her little doll and Taylee loves the attention she gets. Taylee loves to take pictures right now. When I ask her to say "cheese", she cocks her head to the side and gives us her cutest smile. I remember Rylee doing this when she was little also.

Hair Cut

Rylee is very independent and loves to do her own hair, pick out her own clothes and pack her own lunch for school. I couldn't be more of her right now. She is a fabulous older sister and wants to help out where ever she can. We love you so much!

Strep

Oh strep how I loathe thee,
Get away from my kiddies.
You've ruined my days,
In so many ways.
Kids are getting all ill.
Rylee's poor body kills.
Throat bloody and swollen,
Body aches and beckons
"Antibiotics godspeed!"
Throat culture she needs.
Brody's leg has a rash,
And it came in a flash!
"Antibiotics godspeed!"
Results, what I need!
"Medicine's here!"
I scream with a cheer!
24 hours is all it takes,
Feeling better, finally no aches.

Seriously! Two years ago Jon, Rylee and Brody got it. This time it was just the kids and my guess is that Taylee had it first, then passed it to Rylee, then on to Brody. Poor Rylee had it the worst. But antibiotics saved her throat, Brody's leg, and my sanity. I had to take a picture of Brody's rash because I thought it was so cool. It started off looking like an allergic reaction rash but then got pustules. The weird thing was, is that it stayed in one place and did not spread to his whole body. I tried to keep him and the rash contained as much as possible. Once he got antibiotics it all went away. Tons and tons and tons of loads of laundry were done during this time. Thank you for modern technology for a washing machine. I can't imagine how the pioneers did it all by hand. I'd never let my kids change their close if I lived back then!!! Just kidding, that's really gross, ewww.

Happy New Year 2012!!

I enjoy how everyone is dressed in their "sunday best" for church on Sunday. We have really been enjoying our new ward and getting to know people. The primary and nursery are very small, but no matter. That means that everyone knows everyone's names and that every kid is a SUPER STAR!! Brody is now a SUNBEAM and he couldn't be more thrilled to be in primary with all the big kids. He is the only one who sits still in his class and we are so proud of his reverent behavior. Rylee loves her new class as well, and little Taylee LOVES nursery. She is now a big kid, thanks to Brody showing her the ropes in nursery. We now go at 2p and get out of church when it is dark, weird. I'm so grateful for the Church and the weekly refocus of the right perspective it gives me. Life is not always easy, but is more do-able and enjoyable when you have the right perspective.

Some New Year's goals for me this year are:
- consistant FHE
- consistant scripture reading
- date nights with Jon
- individual dates with kids
- workout twice a week
- find a name for "#4 baby girl" (WE LOVE YOU!)
- HAVE MORE PATIENCE
- POSITIVE FOCUS (no/minimal dwelling on the negative)
