San Diego Part 1: 2010 Crossfit Games

This is the event we've been waiting for! The 2010 Crossfit Games were held at the HomeDepot Center in Carson, CA. Jon went to bed at midnight and I went to bed at 1am in the morning in our own beds, woke up at 3am (CRAZY!!!), loaded the last of our stuff and our children and were out the door by 4am. We arrived EARLY at 10am. Not a bad drive, thanks to the "Fun Bag"! I put together a bag of activities for the kids to do while Jon drove peacefully, listening to a Crossfit pod cast to get pumped for the competition. At first we bought tickets and got in the wrong line, we should have realized it right away when not a single person was speaking English. But we didn't. Jon then proceeded to buy the kids these annoying horns with a Mexican flag on it. That didn't even tip us off until we got to the front of the line to be let in at the gate and they told us we were in the wrong arena. We were in the line for a Mexican soccer game. That was a good laugh. We had no idea the HomeDepot had many arenas. Despite the heat, this was such a great competition to watch. They did so many WOD's over this weekend, how exhausting! It definitely was varied and unknown. They had 4 divisions - Master's, Affiliate, Men's and Women's. These people are strong and tough. It was fun to see Sam, Renee and Lilly there in their affiliate colors! Go Invictus Green!Definitely inspiring. There's always next year!
