Wasted

Poor little Rylee. She hasn't been napping for a while now. But, recently I have gotten her to take naps again. Poor thing, I hear her whining upstairs and then it stops. I wait a few minutes thinking she's just frustrated with one of her toys. I then call to her...no answer...I call again...no answer. So, I stop what I'm doing and go hunting for her and this is what I found..."Sleeping Beauty" on the stairs again. This is the second time in the past few months that I have found her like this. It would be nice if she would just go to her bed. I'm sure it's a lot more comfortable here. Plus she is laying across one step and could easily roll down the stairs. What was she thinking...well, "I'm tired", I guess.

Rivercats vs. Fresno

We decided to gather in a few families and meet up at Raley Field to watch a Rivercats game. We had such a great time watching the kids run around, eat ice cream and attempt to catch home runs. We sat on the "Green", which is behind the outfield, perfect for families. We took food and had a little picnic on a blanket. Rivercats won, which made the game that much better. From left to right Ryan, Addie, Aly, Me, Rylee, Brody, Christy, Tyler and Addam.Rylee and Addie eating ice cream and getting so MESSY! (Thanks Addam)Hanging out at the game.It was very relaxing for us to just kick back and let the kids run around.Christy and Tyler. It was great to see you guys. Miss seeing you at work!On the way back to the car, Rylee insisted that she put her dress on Jon's head. She thought it was the funniest thing and wanted us to take a picture.Maybe she'll be a photographer when she grows up. She really finds those money shots!

Lake Don Pedro Family Houseboat Trip

Since Jon and I had so much fun on the houseboat trip earlier this summer, we decided to initiate one with our families. We rented the same 59' Deluxe Houseboat off of Moccacin Point Marina. It had a lot of room and we had a total of three boats there. We had so much fun wakeboarding, tubing, swimming, and going off the slide. Even Rylee, Rebekah and Leah all took a turn going off the slide and they loved it! Way to go girls! You're so brave!Blake brought "Rock Band", which was a hit every night. Though the girls sounded like dying cats, Rylee, Rebekah and Leah loved singing to the music. It was a great laugh! Some people really got into it...likeJohnny......and Dan.Here is Sammy holding cute baby Max. Maxie is growing so big so fast! Loved the turtle suit!! Go NINJA TURTLES!
So let me ask you, have you ever seen a very good looking grown man in a rash guard (yes), life jacket (yes)......and a pink inner tube? He was such a crack up! Love you lover!Luckily Brittany and Aaron were able to fly down from Utah and enjoy the houseboat with us. Thanks for the "Bean Game" Aaron. We will play it again, and you can count on it. Also congratulations on your pregnancy!! We can't wait to meet her...Chantilly!Johnny and Brody having a good time.Jon and I brought up two of our kayaks. Out on the water is Blake, Chrisite and Dennis.Jess and baby Max.Pictured is Emily and Aimee. We even celebrated Aimee's 33rd birthday on the boat with cake and candles!! Happy Birthday! Here are the boys playing "King of the Tube". Us ladies had such a great laugh watching all of them fight for the top. Mat, was it you that ended up winning?Just a little camera fun.Yep that's me wakeboarding......and Jon wakeboarding. Next year we will be flipping as soon as we get our helmets!Leah's "cheese" face! And Rebekah's "cheese" face!Rylee, Nick......and Kathy.(Not pictured is Oma and Renee)Thank you everyone for coming and making it such a pleasant experience! Mom thanks for all your hard work on the food!! We had such a great time!!!

Copter 1 Training

Metro Fire has a helicopter that the fire stations train with. Jon even got to take a ride on it and LOVED it!!!Here the firefighters are training on speed and efficiency of hooking up hose to the helicopter. How quickly can they get water to where it needs to go, while keeping all personell safe. And they're off.The helicopter is dumping the load of water to come in for another pass. This is a picture of Station 41's Ambi, Engine and Grass Rid garage.Jon said it was an awesome experience and would love for another ride anytime!

Heat, Heat and More Heat!

One of my friends turned me on to this water park in Folsom. Need less to say, it is just perfect on days like today...HOT. Rylee had so much fun playing with the fountaining water and enjoyed taking breaks on the warm cement bench.Brody loved watching us run in and out of the water and splash each other. It was such a great day.Of course Jon and I didn't come prepared to get wet, but we ended up having a water wrestling match and, well, we both lost because we both got WET!

Fun Out Front

Jon finally found a big play structure for the kids to play on. He has put a lot of hard work into making a space for the kids to enjoy themselves. Out front is a sandbox, 2 play structures, a small baby pool, a basketball hoop and a swing. Thanks for all your hard work!Rylee loves to paint pictures and make Jon hang them in the garage. Instead of texturing the walls in the garage like he originally planned, we've got her art work filling up all the open space. So who needs texturing anyways when no one can see it?Yes, it is still too hot for clothes. I know it's called a walker, but when Brody gets in, it's called a "runner". This little boy does not walk when he wants to get somewhere, he runs. He is now army crawling, which is interesting to watch. Rylee never did it, so it's new to us. He is such a smilely little guy and loves any amout of attention you can give him. Here is one of her many masterpieces. Great work Rylee!!

Cooking on Sundays

I love Sundays. They are the most peaceful day of the week for me because it is my day of rest. I forget about all the things that have been troubling me and I get to start anew. I'm so grateful for the church and it's gospel. While there, I'm reminded of what's most important in life. It's not a career, money, toys or any other monitary items of this life. Family is what it's all about. If you have time find the "Proclamation on the Family" by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and read it or re-read it for those of you who have it. It spells out family and the importance there of.I love cooking with Rylee on Sundays. The day seems slower, which I enjoy. I'm so glad that Rylee loves to be so helpful. Sometimes my patience is tried because she gets a little more flour in the recipe than what it calls for, but somehow it always turns out GREAT. Maybe that is because it's made with so much LOVE. Here are our oatmeal craisin balls. Yummy! It reminds me of the book that Rylee has called "Love Adds the Chocolate". Pick it up and read it sometime as well. Have a peaceful Sunday.

Just us 4

Today was the most relaxing and peaceful day that we have had in a long time. We spent the day up at Jenkinson Reservoir on the boat. Since it was just the four of us, we couldn't tow, but we had a great time just swimming around and going FAST!The water was lined with luscious green trees that were swaying in the breeze. One of the rangers said there was a bald eagles nest, which we looked for but never found. Thanks for the talk lover, we needed it. You might be thinking to yourselves. "Did you really put Brody in the walker on the boat?" We sure did, and he loves to bounce and jump with the waves screaming his head off with excitement. Since it was the weekend, the reservoir was packed, which made for lots of choppy water. This has to be the smallest body of water that I have ever been on. By the time you get up to speed, it's time to turn around again.
After soaking up the sun, we headed back home to make some popcorn for the Movie in the Park in Serrano. They featured "Enchanted", which was a very clever movie! Even Jon enjoyed it (I hope you don't me saying that out loud). Rylee was glued to the screen as was Brody until he pooped out and fell asleep. Thank you for such a wonderful day!

Thankyou EDH Fire

Enjoy the cake!!!

Olympics - Women's Gymnastics

SUCKS! Brad Cattermole (BYU Women's Gymnastics Coach) always taught us that once you get to a certain level of competition, it's not about the hardest tricks that are thrown, but "it's about who messes us the least"! Well, appearently USA messed up more that the Chinese and received the silver metal. It's better than last place, so good job girls! Oh well, better luck next 4 years! So take a breather and get back in the gym next month! :-)

Happy Birthday Grandma Kathy!

Grandma Kathy requested one thing for her birthday, a picture of her grandchildren. Here they are - Blake, Rylee and Brody. The pictures turned out great...but of course I would say that because I took the pictures. Thanks for your help Oma and Christie! Happy Birthday Kathy!
