Music in the Park

Today we went to Folsom's Music in the Park. We listened to the band and Rylee, Brody and I played a crazy soccer game while Taylee was sleeping all the while. Jon bought us all a treat to enjoy and as you can see, Taylee was so jealous she fell asleep clutching her spoon!Someday Taylee, someday...just keep dreaming.

Pioneer Day

Today is the day our church commemorates the entry of Brigham Young and the first group of Mormon pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley, on July 24, 1847, where the Latter-Day Saints settled after being forced from Nauvoo, Illinois and other locations in the eastern United States. What faith these people had to cross the United States by foot/ handcart/ or oxen driven covered wagons. Many lives were lost enduring for such great a cause. I'm grateful for it. I am grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Our ward celebrated this day with dinner, a band, bounce house, pioneer games, face painting...(Mustache Man)...and a man made slip and slide out of hay bales, black roofing plastic and a fire hose!!! Look closely and you can see the back of Jon holding Brody on the slip and slide. As you can see, Brody was NOT happy about going on the slip and slide. Not a big fan of being sprayed by a FIRE HOSE, OUCH!Now Rylee's turn and she LOVED it!All wet. Jon was the only adult that went on the slip and slide. While watching all the kids go, he was getting amped up about it and he finally said, "I'm going!". One of the kids in line asked him what he was doing and Jon said, "You don't get to have all the fun" and the kid replied, "Yeah we do". Cheers to still being a kid no matter the age! Aren't they just the cutest!!TAYLEE BABY sporting the princess tutu!

San Diego Part 6: Renee's Birthday

Happy Birthday Renee! Since this was her day, she decided to go to the Wave House on Mission Beach. Sammy took a half day at work and met us there. Here he is boogie boarding the wave! Now Renee's turn for surfing the wave! It was fun to watch them crash and cheer for them when they stood up!In between we hung out on the beach because the sun finally came out our last day there. Rylee loved making 'sand balls'...and throwing them into the waves and then running from the waves making sure that only her ankles get wet, screaming all the while! What a silly game that she came up with all on her own! Then there's Brody who won't even go near the ocean...but give him a pool and he's a fish! Thanks Jon for the MONSTER ice cream, it was delish!!We finished off the day with a BBQ and swimming back at Sammy and Renee's place. The birthday cake was awesome! Sammy had a cute picture of Lily printed on the frosting, so creative! Well, good bye San Diego we have had fun, but tomorrow we leave. We have loved hanging out with you Sammy, Renee, Lily and Oma!!!

San Diego Part 5: Old Town San Diego

We went to Old Town San Diego to see the Mormon Battalion Center, eat mexican food and taffy, and get a feel for the roots of San Diego. The old houses here are so cute and the grounds are kept so nice.Sweet baby man.And the "lil angel". Thanks Oma for the cute dress! Here is the family on the olden day RV being powered by oxen. Ha ha!This was a tour of what it was like to be in Mormon Battalion. It was a fabulous presentation with talking pictures, an interactive video and various rooms decorated like the places they traveled. We are honorary members of the Mormon Battalion.Time to pan for some gold! Yes we're RICH!!Now Brody's turn. GOLD!Binoculars on the top of the Mormon Battalion Center. Lots of fun things to see......like the freeway and cars...Wonderful Oma was visiting as well. Fun to have such great company! Miss you guys!Cutie pie Lilly. She has such cute accessories! Definitely all girl! And her mother - Lushes Lips Lady Renee! Now this is just silly. San Diego Part 4: Beach Day at Coronado

Time for some R&R. The beach is so easy and relaxing for Jon and I, as well as the kids. What a great free playground. Anything goes! As you know this beach is very LOUD! Fighter pilots take off right by the beach so they fly their jets low right over the shore line. Though we covered our ears every time, it was an awesome sight to see.Building sand castles. The creation. The boys...just dipping there toes in. Like father, like son...they aren't a big fan of cold water.Little Taylee smiling away...as long as she gets her sleep! And that's what you get for screwing around in the sand...look at those eyelashes!!I love this picture of Brody wrestling with Jon's hat, while Rylee is pulling her eyeball apart because she got sand in her eyes. That's our family in chaotic ACTION!
The sun never broke through that day. That was ok because the sand was nice and warm.

San Diego Part 3: Sea World

This was such a great day full of fun.We started off with the Shamu show which we thought was pretty amazing. These whales are huge! We then headed over to the Dolphin show which we thought was even better than the Shamu show. They had people dressed as birds flying from the air, high divers and trapeze bungee artists! Looks like so much fun!Oh yes, and the dolphins, which two people actually skied on them! Then we went over and fed the sea lions.YUCK! Stinky hands!Yes, we are having FUN!We saw many exhibits: sharks, beluga whales, a walrus, lots of fish and poisonous frogs. Then we headed to the Cirque de la Mar (Circus of the sea). And they had a floating floor that they did a fun routine on and ended with the trapeze dismount into the water. OH SO MUCH FUN!! Taylee thoroughly enjoyed it as did I. Gymnasts and acro-gymnasts out there would really appreciate this one. This is what the kids have been waiting for! Face paint! The gorgeous dolphin. And the sneaky serpent! SSSSS! Yikes!Lots of FISH!!I love this picture, we just came out of the penguin exhibit, which was cold. A nice reprieve from the heat.Rylee could not get enough of this. The anticipation was killing her. She was so excited that she was big enough to go on a big ride. Jon was not too thrilled about this being a wet ride at the end of the day.But he loved it as she did!All wet smiles!!!Show me your muscles!! "MUSCLE MILK"...by the way, not Paleo.Oh, now this was fun! This was a big bubble that the kids were jumping on. Brody and Rylee did their forward rolls and fell a lot! Jon and I were cracking up so bad! They were sad they missed Elmo in person because they were playing on the fun play ground. So this was the best we could do.Finally, a ride Brody could go on...made me sick. Thanks everyone for a fabulous time!!!
