Grandparent's Visit

Since Grandpa Nick was unable to make it to the hospital due to a cold/flu bug he had, he and Grandma Kathy decided to come up that next weekend to visit their newest grandchild. Here is Jon experimenting again with his camera. Not too bad, Jon!Rylee had such a blast with gifts and attention. She can never get enough.

Valentine's Day

Today Rylee, Brody and I went over to Aly's house for a Valentine's Day Luncheon. The kids got to frost some cookies and play with all of Addie's fun toys.

Before heading over, Rylee and I made valentines for all the other little kids that went.
Here are her new "Ruby Red Slippers" from Oma. She loves tromping around the house in them because they are glittery! She sure thinks she's hot stuff in these!

Brody's Folow Up

As some of you know, Brody was born with a bulging frontal fontanelle. It worried the MD's because of the chance it could be a bleed or hydrocephalus. They ended up doing an ultrasound the last day we were in the hospital. Luckily the results showed trama from a fast delivery which is ok and usually located on the back of their heads, which is why they wanted to make sure everything was ok. WOW run on sentence! This is Rylee waiting in the MD's office for Brody's follow up from the delivery. Like I said, I think the medical thing runs in the family!!!! She loves to get her blood pressure taken and look into your ears and eyes!!!!

First day home.

Rylee just loves her new little brother. She used to call him "Bre-doe", but by the time he was born she got his name right. She loves to kiss and squeeze him to death...all the time!!! Here is Brody's first stroller ride. He loves the jiggliness just like Rylee. These two are quite similar. They prefer to be awake over sleeping.

Brody is here!!!!

Brody Nick Rudnicki is here!!! He was born at 11:11pm on 2/9/08. He was 7 lbs 4.4 oz and was 20" long. It was a speedy labor and delivery a total of 2 hours...no time for drugs!!! We almost didn't make it to the hospital, because where I delivered is 35 minutes from my house. Right when we got out of the car, my water broke and he was born 5 minutes after that. The doctor was nowhere to be found and the Charge Nurse delivered Brody. Good job Charge Nurse. This was a far cry from the 23 hour labor with Rylee...with her, once I got the epidural, I got to sleep until I was told to push. Two pushes and a grunt later, she was born. Almost anticlimactic. With Brody I told Jon to bring dental floss and scissors for the ride there, just in case Jon needed to deliver another baby. Jon recounts saying that I appeared to be in the same pain as I was with Rylee so he decided not to speed to the hospital but to go the speed limit. I, of course, was checking up on his speed but didn't have enough time in between contractions to YELL at him to go faster. Jon was just glad to leave it up to the nurses so he could just be Dad for the evening. Brody is completely perfect and healthy in every way. We are so very grateful everything went smooth. We feel so blessed to have the new addition!!!

Last appointment!!!

Here is the last doctors appointment before Brody was born. Rylee was listening for Brody's heartbeat, of course she heard nothing. Rylee just cracks us up!! She wants to do whatever the medical staff does. She was always so very interested at every appointment and always wanted her blood pressure taken. This picture is a bit pixilated because it was taken with Jon's camera on his cell phone. Gotta love her!!!

Snow Days

It was a clear sunny day and we decided to head up the highway to find some snow. We ended up at Sly Park where it was just frigid.

Jon and I brought our snowboarding gear to keep warm and we dressed Rylee in her pink and hot pink snow clothes..."My colors are blush and bashful mama".
This was Rylee's first experience with snow. She was a bit timid at first because of the unstable ground. With every step she took she would say, "Sinking, Sinking etc". (Oh, there's Brody in my GUT!)
You couldn't miss her because her outfit could be seen from a mile away. She reminded me a lot of the movie, "A Christmas Story". She was part "deranged Easter Bunny" and the little brother who could bearly move in the snow because his mom laygered his clothes so much. Jon and I couldn't help from laughing the whole time.
Jon then taught her how to make snowballs and they had a snowball fight. Rylee won, of course, though Jon got a few good shots in as well. We had a great time!!! Rylee is always ready to go back!!!

Blake in Berkeley again...

As you know our nephew Blake is taking drum lessons and is getting quite good. Every quarter Blake has a band concert. Here he is...a changed boy.

He is also working on the bass guitar. Blake still says that drums are his favorite!

Funny Faces!!!

Those of you that know Rylee, she is a PERSONALITY PLUS!!! She is such a character and loves attention! Then again, who at this age hates attention? She is so silly and loves to show off every minute she gets. I have no idea where she gets it from....probably from Jon!!!!

BURRRRHHHH!!!!

Did I mention that it's starting to finally get cold here? Well here are some fun little pictures to illustrate what I mean.
This picture was taken in doors. Gotta save some money for college - no heater this month!!!!
Here we are at the park just having a little fun. I guess it wouldn't have been so cold if we hadn't gone in the black of night. Oh well, we had fun none the less!!!
Here Rylee is screwing around in our garage with Jon. This is what Jon wears to mow the lawn...can't forget the backpack! She looks CRAZY!!!
