State Fair

There was lots of stuff to see! Rylee was mostly interested in the animals as long as she new she was safe..? We went into the petting zoo and she thought she was going die!!! Needless to say, Jon ended up feeding the animals his shorts and held Rylee high above them. What a hot day!!!!

These piglets were just born the day before we got to the fair. They are so cute!! Rylee didn't know what to make of them.
This cow looked like it hadn't been milked in a year. Her utters were just about to touch the ground. This fair is known for it's oddly fried foods. The hot new item of the summer was to try fried coke, which we had no interest in trying. We watched dare devils in a cage on a motorcycle and a motorcyle on a tight rope. They did a great job and no one died while we were there!...even better.
It was 108 degrees and we were cooking!!! Rylee tried to cool down in a little fountain that a couple others were playing in.
We went in the middle of the week so we beat the crowds because school was back in, thank goodness.

Despite the hot weather we had a good day together!

Poop in the pool

Sometimes we like to go to the pool in the evening time during the summer. Unfortunatly, that happens to be prime time when people go because it is still 95 degrees at 6:00pm. I love it with all the abundance of kids, but I hate that it happens more often then not...poop in the pool from the little kiddies. Here we are improvising because the pool was closed that evening. Rylee was sad, cried the whole way home because she didn't quite understand.

While Jon washed the car Rylee and I played in a tub of water with her water toys. Since it was hose water it was considerably colder than the pool at the club. Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...but fun!!!!

She thinks she's a toy?

Silly little girl likes to do things that are wacky!!! Here she thinks she is a toy sitting in the toy box!!! Can she get any closer to her toys???

It's days like these that just make us laugh and say, "How can we ever lose our patience with her?", and then smile and thank Heavenly Father for the little things in life.

Retirement Party Day #2

Again we all met out on the Lake for some fun in the sun!!! Thank goodness for shade!!!! Unfortunately this time it was quite windy so the water was great for tubing!!!! There were tons of wind surfers out that day!!! Jon and I were impressed with how fast Rylee liked to go!!! She loved it...with a little coaxing!!! Even Rebekah wanted out in the water and did great for a few seconds!!!
Leah had to be like her sister and got in on the action as well...for a couple seconds!!!
Even Aaron, who swore he couldn't get up behind our boat was a master that day!!! He got up and stayed up for a while...now Brittany, she's a different story, it was sure fun to watch her CRASH!!!!

Hanging out back on the shore!!! The kids loved the water!!!

Hanging out on the boat!! The girls loved the ride, no complaining here!!!
Even Rylee fell asleep to the rockin' and rollin' on the boat.

All in all it was a great day outside and then it was back to our house for some PIZZA!!!!!

Dad's Retirement Party

The first day was friday and just about everyone in the family showed!! We met out on Lake Folsom and had a blast with wakeboarding, kayaking, and tanning. It was beautiful sunny day!!!! That night we all went back to our house for some good food and fun games. We ate the "man of the hour's" (Dad's) favorite dish consisting of baby back beef ribs, corn on the cobb, salad and rice pilaf. We had paper airplanes flying from every which direction hanging from the ceiling. Even Rylee was decorated, love the stickers on her back!!!!!The little girls were all playing together and having a great time!!!

I was commander in charge with the games. We first went out front and everyone was given a styrafoam airplane to assemble. Everyone participated! We started at the "Launch Pad" and went in heats. The longest flight won little toy flying airplanes!!!! Congrats to Mat and Oma!!!! The only pilot in the croud (Dad...of course) was having a really hard time keeping his plane in the air and Jessica's just seemed to want to fly backwards, poor dears!!! We then went back in for a game of "Family Fued: Get to know the Retiree!!" I was Alexis Trabek!! We had questions that consisted of his very first job ever, favorite sayings growing up and how many hair colors!!! The winners of the game won "Hero Metals" for the brilliant display of valient answers!! Notice in this picture the display of Dad's old flying helmet from Vietnam and old and new pictures of the airplanes Dad flew. We also had out his journal from his mission to Chile. Great stuff to look at!!!
It was nothing short of fun!!! Our guts and cheeks were sore with laughter!!!!
Dad then opened a few gifts with one being from the kids. It was a DVD slide show montage of Dad's career and life. We then watched in awe. The music and pictures were great!!! Thanks to our tech gooroo, Jon!!!!
We then ate some yummy cake...right Oma, and had some hot fudge sundaes. We ALL actually had a great time!!

At home

Rylee loves to be outside as you all can tell. Here she is playing with her sidewalk chalk in the backyard. She loves music and always asks to put the stool in front of the piano so she can play and sing!!!

The child prodigy for baby musicals..."Popcorn popping on the apricot tree!!!"

Visiting Jon at Work

On our way out of town one day Rylee and I stopped off at Station 41 to visit Jon.

He was so excited to see us for a suprise visit. He fed us lunch and Jon gave Rylee a tour of the engine.

He even showed her the lights on the grass rig.
They even let her sit in the recliner. She's looking a bit too comfortable. As you could tell, she didn't want to leave!!!
